As a department, we are grateful to the Almighty for taking us through all the ups and downs upto this far. The department comprises of three subjects (languages), namely: ENGLISH, KISWAHILI & FRENCH. However the dream came true in the K.C.S.E of 2015 when it broke all the odds and emerged first position after beating the humanities department. Out of these only French is optional. We currently have five teachers of English, seven teachers of Kiswahili and only one teacher of French. As members of the department, we are proud because we have the deputy principal in our department. For as long as our memories can hold, the department has always been fighting hard competing with the other departments for position one The top position in the department ranking every year. This dream has been the driving force for a number of years. English language is mainly used in communication, apart from Kiswahili and French, this department indeed is the back bone of the schools success in academics. As members, we are aware of this. We have, therefore, come up with a number of strategies aimed at making our students excel in the subject. Our belief is that, excelling in English as a subject means excelling in the general academic performance of our school. We are glad that, all the members of staff have fully joined us in boosting the students' performance in English. However, some students have not yet realized that, all rules related to language policy in the school are for their own benefit. We therefore urge all the students to be their own soldiers of grammar especially in English, put deliberate efforts towards mastering the language and avoid the so called Matuga English. We also urge parents and guardians to assist their daughter/s in this by providing the required support in terms of books to the best of their ability. Apart from providing the facilities, our dear parents, please encourage the daughters in learning proper English and Kiswahili.
